I recently bought a 2020 16" MacBook Pro (Intel), my first without an internal CD/DVD drive. I have several other external CD/DVDs Tried drives that needed an adapter to plug into one of my new MacBook ports. Some didn't work at all and one worked intermittently on my MacBook Pro.Most worked fine on my late 2013 iMac.Then I got this ROOFULL External Tried CD DVD Drive USB-C & USB 3.0 Block and am very satisfied It worked right out of the box Integrated USB-C and USB 3.0 connectors are built into the cable so I don't have to keep track of a separate key part .and I love how the cable fits into a recessed slot on the bottom of the unit.I'm also really pleased with the soft zippered pocket that has a External zip pocket for other adapters or cables. I hooked it up to my MacBook and when I put the CD in it immediately recognized and imported the CD. Data transfer was MUCH faster than other external CD drives I've used. I was able to eject the CD from the Finder with no problems. The only thing I was concerned about was a CD tray that requires a decent amount of space in front of the drive to open, but I like the ability to eject a CD with the open/close button on the tray AND if needed the tray has it a small hole for safe paperclips in case I need an emergency eject. I'm so lucky to have a fast, quiet drive that is easy to carry in a soft zippered case.
