You have to mount it behind the engine, on a bass boat anyway. The wiring is too short. There is also an extra wire that runs along the winding around the spark plug wire that is not on the wiring diagram that came with the sensor. I don't know where this cable is even connected. my refund. It's a problem with the online purchase I think. This is the first item I have ever returned to Amazon.
