It arrived yesterday. At first I liked it. me and the cat the cat liked it immediately, scratching the post, sitting on the podium, playing with a spring toy, with a ball in the base. She really started playing with the ball in the base. She is completely distracted and having a great time until she starts crying. She's stuck - she can't get her leg out of the hole. Inside the round base is a metal bracket that the bottom screws into and she has her claw stuck in (in the gap between the wood and metal). screwdriver to pry it off. I had to put a screwdriver through the top hole and slip it under her claw and slide it away from her to pull it out from under the clamp. Pretty weird design flaw. To make sure this doesn't happen again, I cut a piece of hard, flexible plastic - one of those cheap flexible plastic cutting boards - into a circle a little smaller than the base, rolled it up and pushed it through one of the side holes and then unrolled it inward so it lay flat, covering the floor. Then I sprayed some glue underneath through each of the 4 holes just to be more careful. Otherwise it looks good - the cat liked it straight away, scratching the pole, sitting on the pedestal, playing with the feather and of course the ball. Oh yes, 2 balls are included. One fell about waist high on the linoleum kitchen floor and it broke in half. Literally. So, almost 15 minutes of screaming, hissing, crazy semi-feral Bengal cat, so far so good. Luckily I had a black cloth bag to slip over her head during the extraction process. In any case, she's a bit wild, so she didn't take the experience well. I'll let you know if she ever gets close.
