The perfect PFAK backpack

I always like to pack my hiking PFAK rather than buying complete sets. I often switch cargo depending on where I'm going, what I'm doing, and what type of weather, terrain, flora and fauna I expect to encounter on the trip. I used an ancient Eagle Creek "duffel bag" for this purpose, which eventually breathed its last and demanded that I find a new backpack. It had to be strong, light, easily accessible and roomy enough with integrated loading logic. I'm very glad I paid and got the Vanquest FATpack (Gen2) in 4x6. For this purpose it is almost perfect. At first I was afraid it would look too tactful and clunky, but my fears proved to be in vain! The bag is designed like a tank. MOLLE straps to attach to the outside, a good selection of flexible straps, pouches and very strong WR YKK zippers. This is a very light cordura that should last a very long time. I really. I really like the opening mechanism. Pull twice to break the Velcro and the two side zips open instantly to reveal all the contents on your knees. Well done! I understand this design is for injury relief in the field (where seconds count) and it should work extremely well, but for the basic backpacker with a bladder it's perfect for a quick way to show off everything in the bag. I have some gauze rolls, gauze pads, bandages of various sizes, Mole Foam, micro tweezers, some medication (Advil and Benadryl), Sting-Eze, butterfly bandages, Derma-Flex and a compression bandage with some Neosporin, cleaning wipes wounds and napkins for prep from alcohol. There is still volume to be filled! It has a fantastic logical gear layout and the lighter nylon interior makes everything stand out. It is still very light and fits perfectly in my everyday backpack. Lots of first aid items for a traveler. Do not be shy. take this bag The price might make you think, but I'm very glad I accepted it.
