Review on 🌸 6-Cup Nordic Ware Wildflower Loaf Pan, Toffee by Miriam Hettich

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great for cakes, good for others

This pan could have earned a 4 1/2 star rating but I wanted it to be balanced. While I like the design, the end product may or may not be successful. I gave it 3 stars because the actual picture the sellers seemed to have had contrasting accents, but who knows, and my experience baking with it. Look closely at the reviewer's photos. Pound tortillas with white batter show off the design best. But gingerbread and pumpkin tortillas are baked to a darker color to provide needed contrast and bring out the beautiful details. Therefore, you should ask yourself what I most often bake light or dark bread on and decide if this pan is right for you. I mostly make dark batter so the design doesn't really show through, well. I would recommend a baker's spray for use on these pans and for easy cleaning. As I've found with other Scandinavian pans, they're heavy and retain heat, so you may need to lower the temperature and bake time. I've also made sticky bisquick batter and cornbread in this pan, note both require spraying to release, puddles of melted butter won't work. Notice to Bisquick. I turn the heat down and do the first half of the double boiler (baking pan in another pan with water halfway up the sides of the inner pan) so the crust isn't too thick while the center cooks.
