I thought I could use these lamps as extra light/heating for my turtle enclosure. Here's the problem: the lights are very small, the clips make it almost impossible to hang them vertically, and they get VERY hot. After I turned off the light, it took about 30 minutes for it to cool enough that I could even touch it. The materials are simply not designed to withstand high temperatures. Also, I couldn't find any information about the spectrum of light. So unless you have a UV meter you really have no idea what this light is doing. Maybe these things have niche applications, but they've just given me trouble.
