Potentially dangerous wiring! Read please.

Not sure! My first one was great but accidentally stopped working. We bought a second one and after a few days it stopped working so we sent it back. I decided to look at the internal parts to see if they might be faulty before buying another one. I'm so glad I did before I bought a third one. As soon as I opened it I noticed something was wrong because the cable coming from the battery was not connected to anything. What struck me was that the wires looked like they had been bent at right angles and showed no signs of being torn out in any way (this was used in a cradle for a newborn). I opened up the switch section by removing a screw and there was my answer. Only one wire had hot glue on it, but the glue is on the wire and not even making contact with the circuit board. The earth also had the same 90 degree curvature. If you look, the M+ and VDD slots have no hot glue at all (these are where the wire coming out of the battery pack {should be). Why can't they be soldered for safety reasons? I'm not an electrician but seeing this screams something is wrong and I worry that this product has been living in bed with my daughter as a power source, especially with products used with infants and children. Picture of the switch body with wires and an attempt to hot glue one wire. I still have this device, more photos guaranteed.

Pros

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
