I bought this hot shoe for my 5D because I'm used to shooting with the C100 and I liked holding the camera on top rather than on the side . I also have issues with my hands and the grip is much easier to hold when shooting from above for long periods of time. This crank is perfect for my setup as it has multiple cold shoe mounts on the front. I can connect my audio recorder and microphone here. The entire block is removed in one motion, leaving my camera completely clear. I can't believe I stumbled across this product. So happy with that.
