I first bought this for my 1997 Ford Ranger XLT with over 300,000 miles (eventually replaced the original starter). this first one is great. If you search here you'll know how good the Ford Ranger is in terms of part cost and ease of replacement. The starter is ideally located at the very bottom of the truck. the only thing that bothered me was the wires attached to it, which had to be removed first. the installation went perfectly. The old one is out and the new one is straight in. It took about 15 minutes including cleaning the wires on the truck. the truck has started so far, the starter is perfect. Make sure it works with your truck year and model, but you won't find a better price. Got this for less than half the cost of buying a refurbished unit from AutoZone and I don't have to give up a core. Buy this, it's worth it, it will work
