I installed this on my 1983 Honda V65 Magna which is notorious for having virtually inaccessible valve stems, especially when using an air chuck at a roadside gas station. My rubber rear valve stem broke (75+ mph on the freeway!) after years of bending it sideways to allow re-ventilation. own valve on the other end, so you need to make sure you install them securely to avoid leakage. Also, you need to make sure that there are no obstacles to the full rotation of the installed wheel. On my front wheel with double disc brakes. I had to twist these extensions a bit to clear the caliper, but that's no big deal. The biggest problem is the extra weight. After installing them, I rode at pretty high speeds and felt (and saw!) my front wheel bouncing horribly! When I got home, I quickly checked the balance, and indeed the wheel rotated to the position where the valve stem was at its lowest point. I estimated the weight of the bars to be about half an ounce each, but they stick out toward the center of the wheel, reducing the centrifugal effect on the wheel. I recalculated that half an ounce (14 grams) for every 10 grams of weight on the wheel has been reduced. Knowing that an American nickel weighs 5 grams, I took a two part epoxy and glued 2 nickels right in front of the valve stems. In another quick balance test, the wheel stopped at random pivot points. A long test drive showed no negative effects of balancing on wheels! It's been over 6 weeks now and I haven't even lost half a pound of air. they seal perfectly! Purchase and install these extensions with confidence knowing some of the precautions associated with this type of wheel accessory. especially on lighter (e.g. motorcycle) wheels.
