I bought these gloves to replace Alpine Stars motorcycle gloves which cost 5 times the price. Granted, these gloves don't have carbon fiber ankle protection and aren't made from a Cordura-like material. However, I used them on a 5 hour ride in 110F+. They felt comfortable throughout. Also, they really helped me control my iPhone with the touchscreen! While it's too early for me to judge their durability, I intend to buy at least one more pair for other riders and as a backup. I don't know yet if they offer more protection from the cold. Neither did my prettier riding gloves. My only gripe is that they have a shiny metal plate over the upper arm near the wrist. Not sure if it protects better and looks a bit tasteless. I have other inexpensive Chinese gloves that have a similar "decoration" and I don't like them either. I don't think it comes off easy. I think I could mask it off or paint it black if it bothers me enough, but it really doesn't matter.
