After a friend's house was flooded due to a malfunction in her washing machine, I was looking for easy to use alarms that would let us know if the same thing was happening in our house due to a mechanical failure or a water problem. Basement, cellar. These little alarms are easy to use. Just insert batteries and place them near a place where there may be a problem with water. Although the floor wasn't wet when I parked mine, the humidity was high and one of the alarms went off a few days later. I think this problem can be solved by placing the alarm on a piece of paper so that it doesn't touch the wet cement.
