For general shopping information only, do not throw away boxes until you are sure the item has no invisible problems. When I first received this case (yesterday) it looked good and felt sturdy. I like that the edges are reinforced with "bumps" that perfectly withstand any fall! The rose gold cover is beautiful. Looks a bit cheap but not bad for a $16 case and after a few minutes I liked it. The case went smoothly and my iPad mini felt secure and all the holes and buttons matched perfectly. The lid was a bit problematic and opened easily, which could wake up the iPad. I assumed this would drain the battery, but since my iPad is kept in my purse except when I'm using it, I figured it wouldn't be too much of an issue. And again, for $16 I couldn't expect a great or perfect case. I overlooked this issue and my first impression was positive so I threw the box away as I hate clutter. It was a bad move on my part. Yesterday I didn't need to use my iPad, but today as I was reading articles for my senior year, I noticed that my iPad was getting VERY hot. As in "burn your skin hot". I only read for about 30 minutes and I used to read for over 2 hours without a case and never felt my iPad get hot. I never got an overheat warning today, but I didn't want it to go that far. So I took the iPad out of the case and it cooled down for a few minutes, although I continued to use it for reading. So in summary I would not recommend this case as it can cause your iPad to overheat. It looks and feels good, but don't risk such an expensive device overheating and breaking. Since I can't return this one, I'll probably keep it until I find a better one. I will only use the case as a carry/travel cover but will remove my iPad from the case during use.
