Simply put it works but you get what you pay for. I think there are magnets on one side and some kind of metal on the other. The magnetic attraction is weak. Problem number two is that the side with the suspect metal is the side that goes into the tank. The seams aren't airtight and once it fills with water you better get snails. I got this for my nano salt tank and it's no longer used as I don't want metal contamination in my tank. Then again, I liked it at first; The scraper worked great with my thin glass cleaning pad. The scrubber got very close to the edges and corners. Add extra magnets or stronger magnets and seal the tank washer much better and it will be 5 stars.
