My family and I have used Cryocups for years to treat a variety of pains from elbow and shoulder tendinitis to to iliotibial tract syndrome and plantar fasciitis. With a few runners in the house, it seems like there are a few minor issues that need to be addressed each year. A cryo mug is a great option for working with sore joints or muscles. It consists of two parts. Gently fold the two pieces together, fill with water and place upright in the freezer. When freezing, simply rotate the two parts and use an open ice cube for an ice massage. Most of the time I have to dip them in warm water for 10 seconds to break the seal. No durability issues as my mugs are heavily used and have lasted for several years. Eventually the inner tabs break off, but it usually takes dozens if not hundreds of apps for that to happen.
