I needed a large mug for the office at work. I like to make a large mug of hot water and brew packets of green tea in it. This mug is a pretty good size and holds 18 ounces of water. But most of all I like the heavy bottom. So in the event of an accidental impact, it won't tip over. The whole mug and handle feels very sturdy and durable. This is a high quality mug, not a cheap and inexpensive mug. It's worked great for me so far and I'm sure it will work just fine with a large cup of coffee too.
