Review on Walker Exhaust 36129 Bolt and Spring for Exhaust System by Anthony Robichaud

Ok they didn't have instructions for installation BUT I just did it the way the previous screws were installed and figured I was probably close. I bought this with the 'Walker 36132 Hardware Flange Repair Kit NOW' which is a large cap for these screws. They didn't work on my 99 Ranger 4x4, 4.0 126" wheelbase. The problem lies in the design of the bolt. It has a larger OD, which is then reduced by one size. The larger OD part I think holds the Spring centered. Long story short I had to grind a damn inch of material around the bolt to get the spacer working. I checked the Walkers official site to make sure it would fit my truck before I bought it. I know I don't know if anything went wrong. I used to buy automotive products online and there is an item on the box and the part number on the outside of the box doesn't match. I don't know if this has happened to me. Anyway , I think the moral of the story is that if you want a square stick to fit a round hole, you just have to put in real effort and it will work.
