Review on BMW Z4 E85 2003-2008 Compatible Convertible Top Hydraulic Roof Pump Motor and Bracket 54347193448 by Hotwin by Mike Krzywicki

Replaced the engine in my 2005 Z4 Convertible. Works perfectly. I hooked up the motor and hydraulic pump to the trunk and found how to do it on a YouTube video. The engine replaced the factory installed engine after I removed the old gasket on the underside of the original engine and used the new gasket intended for the new engine. I cleaned the hydraulic connections but did not open the lines. no need to add liquid. You may need to add an ounce or two, but no more. The motor had a red mark on one of the connectors. Correctly guessed by connecting to the original wires. Tested by connecting the motor to the battery before installing it in the car.
