I wear a 3mm wetsuit snorkeling/lobstering in the Florida Keys in January and February, but get the occasional cold from prolonged exposure. I borrowed one of these jackets from a friend to wear over my wetsuit and it makes a world of difference! The sleeves are tight which helps keep me warm. I suppose you could wear this alone in warmer water conditions. These jackets run small. Based on a borrowed jacket I bought a size 12 which is quite tight. For reference, I usually wear a size 8 (small) 34D bra, so you can go up a size.
