This is a very functional and useful product. This highly absorbent rug gets the job done while minimizing floor odors and stains. The underside of the mat is a waterproof "rubber layer" that prevents liquids from coming into contact with the floor and helps to place the mat securely. The top layer of the rug is a dense mat material with a rough texture resembling felt. The cutout fits most dresser shapes. Designed for small drops or splashes, so the mat is not very thick. Too early in use to know if it eliminates odors. The cleaning instructions say it's machine washable, but I think I'll probably take it outside and use soapy water and a garden hose to clean it. Then let it dry in the sun. At $8.75 per rug, that feels a bit pricey. But for the sake of convenience and stated purpose, it can be an effective and efficient way to deal with the constant mess of all non-targeted urinary problems.
