Generates radio interference on GPS frequencies

This 12V to 5V USB converter is used in a custom RTK GPS acquisition system and the system was occasionally able to do the Do not synchronize satellite phase. After several hours of troubleshooting and opening up the spectrum analyzer, it turned out that this converter was giving off high-frequency noise. Shielding the case from 12V to 5V with copper tape solved the problem. Also, the ground on the USB output is not the same as the ground on the 12V input and is floating at about a 200mV difference. Phase noise in the GPS domain causes interference, which is not good for RTK GPS. (See the photo above before and after turning on the 12V to USB converter)
