In my opinion, design issues limit educational value and the value of this puzzle.1. The size of the puzzle is such that the states of New England and New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington DC are sacrificed without individual puzzle pieces or state names, while DC is identified on individual puzzle pieces. There are 40 puzzle pieces for the 50 states, and Washington, DC, West Virginia, and Virginia are one piece of the puzzle, with colors representing the shapes. It may be argued that the shapes of these states and the District of Columbia are of little instructional value; they are sacrificed.2. The puzzle is advertised and labeled for children aged 3-6 years. This seems a bit childish to me given the statement "CHOKING HAZARD - small parts. Not for children under 3 years. Warning, issues presented and limited educational value, particularly with regard to forms.3. The limitations of this mapping puzzle, I believe, include the lack of a meaningful way to teach the most elementary history of the United States with visual aids and to learn it easily - even at a young age. In Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, there are no separate pieces of the puzzle, no reference images, and minimal training.4. Alaska and Hawaii are relegated to the bottom left corner of the puzzle as footnotes, with no geographical context.5. Some of the images look dated rather than charmingly retro. Some images that can be understood and recognized do not reflect the clarity of the design. For example, Arizona has a cactus sombrero, Hawaii has a hula dancer, New Mexico has balloons, Washington has a Space Needle, Georgia has peaches, Florida has flamingos, Oklahoma has a singing cowboy. Illinois has a Lincoln, Ohio has a Cardinal, Indiana has auto racing, Kentucky has horse racing/derby, South Dakota has Mount Rushmore, Pennsylvania has a Liberty Bell, etc. Some puzzle pieces have state flowers, some - state birds, some are problematic. . And those jumbo potatoes on the tractor for Idaho? And states that are denied discrete pieces of the puzzle are not provided with pictures (meaningful or not). I'm confused about some of the puzzle pieces and the overall design of this product. It has no order or message: what can be learned from this puzzle? forms of government? no A clear link between capitals and states? no A recurring theme across the states - history, state birds, state flowers, nature, landmarks? no Some of the puzzle images may seem cryptic to adults; Explanation of some pictures would be helpful. And this is the windmill for Virginia? What do some of these images represent? 6. Below the puzzle pieces - on the puzzle board - are the names of the capitals of each state. However, the shape of each New England state and other states/jurisdictions that do not seem to merit a separate puzzle piece is presented on the puzzle board below the overall puzzle piece, but without connecting the capital to the indicated state. DC red circle and star.7. The puzzle is not solid wood. Some parts are not fully separated. It is prudent for an adult to control the pieces, separate them and make sure they do not get into the child's mouth.8. This puzzle is sold under the name LEARNING JOURNEY (Arizona, Made in China). In my opinion, it will be difficult for a child to solve this puzzle easily and well, especially in the given age range, and not as a study plan task, but because of design errors. The packaging claims the supposed benefits of this puzzle, including "Exploration", "Tactile Motor", "Teaching Thinking". I presented the puzzle with some guilt after noticing the puzzle's flaws. I'm still looking for a US map puzzle that better depicts all states and Washington DC.
