Locked up! on caps

approx I have to say I was a little pissed when I put this locking gas cap on my "new" (to me) 2006 regular cab Toyota Tacoma because a reviewer said the key didn't fit and he had to break off his tank. So I wanted to check the key first and then forget. THE CONFIRMATION THE VERIFICATION! but wow. the key fits (and worked to open the lid). The lid is very tight, so you have to press hard when screwing it on and off. It might get easier over time, but even if it doesn't, that's okay. Make sure you twist it a few times after you hear a click and check that it's seated properly. When I first put it on, I just twisted it until I felt the first clicks, but then I was able to pull it out without a key. Now I twist until I feel/hear a click and then twist a few more times. I just bought this truck and was surprised that it doesn't have a locking gas cap. I don't think I've had a lid without a lock since the 70's and I can't imagine not having one. Gasoline is cheaper than ever, but it's still extremely expensive and gasoline thieves abound. without risking. very happy with this cap! now i can relax.
