If you really have trouble with swelling and inflammation causing pain in your legs I would recommend these knee socks recommend. These socks offer enough compression but I expected more. I've tried them while walking long distances and the compression is good while walking. My feet aren't very swollen, so they didn't hurt even after a few hours. For shorts, this crew style is preferred over knee socks. However, since I do high jump and aerobics, I wanted something that would relieve at least 1/4 of the pain caused by inflammation and still not cause any discomfort in my knees. I was disappointed when after 5 minutes of cycling my legs started to hurt as usual. No difference. Also, the toe seam is large and when I lace my shoes up as tight as I want to when I exercise, they get chafed and a little uncomfortable in my toes. I have another brand of compression stockings of the same name, a seam in my toes that I can't feel and it's like walking on clouds compared to that! So look for the best ones and buy stockings if you are buying them for medical reasons. Finally I bought Sm/Medium for women's size 9N. It's a little too long and the heel and toe can stick together. It's not too noticeable but I think it might play a part in the stitching interfering with my sock. The material is also a bit rough for my taste. It took some time to get used to. Odor protection is ok. Other brands that are golf have much better material. I trained in it and it didn't smell like hot feet. After training in them I will say my feet stayed dry but they smelled slightly. These socks are better for walking or standing on your feet for long periods of time than regular socks. But for training and gym work, which is where I wanted to use it ideally, I am disappointed with the overall feel, smell and effectiveness of the compression.
