This is a pretty good spare wheel holder for my cargo trailer as I didn't want to stuff it full. I installed it outboard (front) with the weight of the wheel on the tongue. I drilled through the trailer's steel frame in all 4 holes to the inside of the trailer. I went to the store and bought stainless steel bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. All very well dressed and seem very safe. All you see is nuts in the trailer instead of taking up more space with the tire. I used a longer screw and, believe it or not, I taped it around it to hold the square head of the screw in place while I tightened the included nut to fit into the bracket's square socket to fit. He held his own well; It's still impossible to weld an aluminum bracket to a zinc bolt. I wouldn't mount this on anything if the tire didn't carry an inner base (for inside mount) or a front outer tongue (for outside mount). Hope this helps everyone.
