Before purchasing I read other reviews and decided that I could implement it on my 4x8 open utility trailer due to the reasonable price. My trailer is quite heavy for its size and uses 15" D-load trailer tires on 5-bolt rims. I have already decided to mount the spare wheel at the front of the trailer to save space. This is a pretty good spare wheel holder for my cargo trailer as I didn't want to stuff it full. I installed it outboard (front) with the weight of the wheel on the tongue. I drilled through the trailer's steel frame in all 4 holes to the inside of the trailer. I went to the store and bought stainless steel bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. This bracket was for my trailer replacement. It's aluminum and lightweight, and the end result works flawlessly. HOWEVER, I had to make a few technical decisions to install it. I wasn't impressed. I think it would be too smart to provide bolts for a standard 1/2"-20 RH trailer nut? The bolts aren't 1/2"-13 either, more like a weird M12-1.75 metric that nobody sells. None of the included partially threaded bolts will work with a 15" trailer rim. The smaller one is too short, the longer one too long - because there are only threads at the ends.
