Unless you are installing this on a door less than 1.2 cm (1/2 inch) thick, you will need longer screws and something to align the inside of the door. I mounted this on the laundry room door, which isn't very thick, but I couldn't use the screws that came with it because they couldn't even get halfway through the door. It's ugly like having nothing to line up the hole with. I need to think about what I can do", I can't imagine anyone using this on an outward opening door. You may also need to remove the latches at the bottom as these snag a bit on the flap even when open stay. This makes my cat think the door is locked. To break it. I have a hard time saying anything positive about this cat door. I think I could say that it is very affordable and the hole is big enough for one big cat or a small dog.I should have spent more money for one In the big pet store but thats the price you pay for cheap and you get cheap crap.Reading all the positive reviews, I suspect some of these are not fake or for a different product, maybe I missed something but I doubt it.
