I always try to take negative reviews seriously, which is what I did with this product. However, I was looking for different sized mixing bowls that are aesthetically pleasing and lids are a big plus. I've found pricier options, probably in higher quality materials, but I settled on this particular set. I don't wash plastic in the dishwasher and they are very easy to hand wash. The lids are pretty tight out of the box, but I'd rather have them re-tight than too loose. I haven't tried removing the cover so I don't see anything wrong with it. I haven't dropped it so I'm not sure how durable it is, but I expect it to tear or break if I drop it down the stairs and onto the floor. I can't imagine that normal wear and tear could damage them, but of course something excessive or accidental. They're plastic, so for the price, quantity, colors, and features, they're exactly what I expected. No complaints!
