Whole Family - Wii U

When we discovered that Fit Meter unlocked access to the game for those who already had a balance board, we knew it was worth the investment. The problem was, who gets the meter in a family of five? Well, we solved it by getting five. My husband, I and our children aged 6, 8 and 10 wore blood glucose meters for almost a month. The kids wear them to school (we put labels on the back with their names in case they fall) and we have constant family issues with distance and size. My daughter often wears dresses and even puts them on under her dress because she doesn't want to be without it. In the evenings they often run in circles around our house just to take as many steps as possible in one day. My 8 year old frequently walks over 12,000 steps a day (we recommend walking at home, which I understand isn't for everyone). I found that the calorie count seemed low for me compared to everyone else in the family. I understand that I weigh less than my husband so he will burn more calories, but I weigh more than twice the kids and my calorie count isn't much higher than theirs. Granted, most of my training is based around lifting weights, so it's not tracked by steps. The height sometimes seems random. I see spikes on the daily chart at points where I haven't done much in terms of height, and sometimes I feel like I've come a long way up or down and only see a small flare. All in all, it was a fun investment to actively challenge the kids. Wii Fit has tons of courses, so we'll be running and climbing for years!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
