So first let me say that I'm not surprised by the reviews I've read, there are quality issues. But our Next-Step seats broke FAST (after only a few months) and while we missed the slow-close feature, I was happy to get rid of it in favor of stronger seat hinges. We have had two seats for 2 years now and we just broke our first hinge. When they arrived I remember being impressed with their durability, especially compared to another brand. I was a little confused by the lack of installation instructions, but I assembled it fairly quickly with no experience. While it would be even faster if I googled the instructions, I got some backwards at first. Not a big deal but avoidable😏 It took us a while to get used to not having a slow close but they held fantastic 2 pots! And what they could throw at him for 2 years. They clean EASILY and I haven't had any issues with staining, peeling, corrosion or anything like that. And it's not something that's getting as much attention as it should. 😣My only complaint is the cracked surface around the magnet on both seats we have. But it took some time and the magnet is still there and not visible. There are only cracks. probably because they are actually fast and strong. They have a 3-year guarantee 🤗 so. Defects. You would be excellent! If not, they're still by far the best I've found and we've been very happy with them for much longer than the other brand which barely lasted a few months and seemed cheap.
