Review on 🐶 Fisher-Price Little People Animal World See 'n Say by Nick Moo

We bought this for my (then) 1 year old daughter. It was intended as a fun substitute for us, imitating animal sounds to entertain them. Voices and sounds are clear (although some of them are difficult to record phonetically - I'm not sure how to properly describe a hippo's moans and sighs). But there are two things that didn't quite work: 1) You have to aim the arrow at the animal before you pull the lever to hear what the animal is saying. Simple logic for an adult and maybe a three year old. However, I'm not sure it's easy for a one-year-old to connect. I believe it would be easier to reproduce the sound of an animal being hit by an arrow. 2) There is almost no chance that a one year old (or even two year old) toddler will be able to activate this on their own. Maybe your child is a demigod, or a dragonborn, or in the 99th percentile on this elusive pediatrician's fingering chart. Otherwise, you have to firmly grasp the body of the object and really pull the handle with your other hand. How much power? Imagine working with one of these Jane Fonda hand trainers, but for children. You have to pull the handle _all_ down to trigger the sound effects. A quarter inch less and the pin rises again with no payoff. It was embarrassing for my recently survived toddler. We ended up having to activate it for them. In short, I'm optimistic this will get interesting when my daughter is older and has enough strength to pin a small dog. Until then, this seems to be required by the parent company.
