I got terrible SWR measurements for this antenna when I connected it to my antenna analyzer. Then I did a little research. It turns out that the H/T radio is an important part of the antenna. The SWR is measured high without the radio when the radio is plugged in because that's not how it works. If you take an RF meter and measure the radiated power when the antenna is connected to the radio, you will find that almost all of the power is radiated. No energy is sent back to the radio. I also reproduced this test using the much longer Nagoya tri-band antenna, which is well-rated for low SWR. Same result. The meter shows a high SWR, but all the power is put out in the radio. The antenna is PERFECT. There are no problems with the SWR.
