This is my second Conair stubble trimmer. I lost the plug on the first one and couldn't find a replacement. The product description does not meet the needs of those looking for bristles. First, the blade itself has three settings from almost to half closed. Then there are the mentioned appendices that will help you find the exact level you are looking for. If you are looking for a cheap way to achieve that shady look then this is perfect for you. I personally use 1 and reduce to 5 with 1, 3 and 5 attachments. This gives me the bristly look I'm looking for. I keep the rest in my pocket.
