Fixed 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Gear Random

In my 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9L Cummins Diesel with 171,000 miles I had an issue that was more annoying than a mechanical malfunction issue. Basically, the truck did not always report the right gear in the cluster. Even in the park, the ring around the letter "P” appeared and disappeared. When this was the case, the truck would often honk its horn, flash its position lights as if you were pulling out of a parking space, or ignite trying to start). Reverse was unreliable, the reverse lights flashed. Sometimes in "Drive" mode, the truck would report that it was moving backwards and the reverse lights would come on. After some research I put it in for this gear range selector. It is clear that the old device generated sporadic tension. I noticed a leak around the old block. When I bought this unit I used a T25 torx with a 1/4" ratchet to remove the 2 mounting screws. Pulled out the old knot - this requires some effort. The liquid didn't come out, although I've heard that it can in some cases. a new blockage is nothing but pain. With a little wiggling and proper hand position, I was able to line everything up and hold it in place while I tightened the screws. After 20 minutes of wobbling, I finally had it all in. My problem with the gear selector was solved immediately. No problem. Note that Revain says it doesn't work with my truck, but it doesn't. Other sites correctly state that this works. Buy with confidence.
