Review on Kreg KBCIC In-Line Clamp by Joe Meyer

it worked great. That's half of the Festool clamps.

I tested this Kreg clamp on my workbench with .75" holes and it worked great. That's half the price of Festool clamps (bore 20 mm). I use Festool on my build table and it takes 20-40 seconds to move both parts and I have to fool around for a while to get the threads in. Kreg clips change in a second or two. The Festool clips sometimes get in the way and I have to make changes where the Kreg takes up less space. I see Festool wear and expect it to fail one day. I don't see anything in Krag that could fail. The plastic looks pretty sturdy. I haven't tested it but I think it will be stronger than Festool. My table is thicker than they were designed so there is a very small gap in the back when tightening which does not affect anything. This could easily be remedied with a few strokes of the file. I wish Creg had added a round gasket so I could use it in a 20mm hole, but you could probably wrap it with tape or something. I also like the bottom profile. When grinding material with a diameter of 0.75 inch, the Festool clamp can be easily grinded.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
