Review on Pack of 10 SE 10-1/2-Inch Metal Tent Pegs with Glow-in-the-Dark Stoppers - 910NRC10 by Tim Burns

Robust tines for hard soils. However, the caps are no match for the knock.

I got these pegs after destroying too many overpriced ultralight pegs from the camping section of camping stores. Unlike aluminum stakes, they are affordable and durable. In fact, these are giant steel nails. I hammered them into the hard desert dirt with a rock and they held up perfectly without bending or warping. That's what I wanted. However, the plastic caps that are supplied on the post heads are not really suitable for this task. It's funny that they glow in the dark, making them easier to avoid at night, but the plastic takes more effort if you're using a hammer with stakes. Some of mine broke after 3 uses. I wish the post head was wider or the plastic caps were metal. I replaced mine with thick washers. For the money I don't mind. I'm just happy that I can now stake out my tarp on solid ground.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
