Why I love this? I bought it to sweep the tent while hiking. It had to be small enough to pack, but not tiny, and it had to be compact, like in ONE piece until I needed two. Bingo. This is perfect for my needs. It works. I'm not sure you'd like it if you just bought it for home use, but you could. It's not too small for that, but it's not the traditional broom and pan you usually see at home. If I were to use it at home I think the size would be fine. The bristles are stiff enough and narrow enough to brush the dirt into the pan. The plastic shell has a rubber lip that makes it easier to pick up dirt, pine needles and leaves (remember I use it for a tent). It's perfect for my needs.
