Fan quality, accessories and packaging are exceptional as expected from Noctua. If you want to control the 5V fan speed on the RPi without adding any circuitry between the fan and the RPi, you need a PWM fan. The fan header requires some modifications to work with the RPi gpio. Either take some Dupont [male-female] jumpers or cut the connector and add Dupont connectors to the case. Add code/script to RPi to control fan speed. Search for "wiringpi fancontrol" on github. Preferably C code. It will be faster and use less system resources.
