The packaging of this lamp looks very professional. But when I took the lamp out of the box, my first thought was that it looked like something that could be made in Cub Scouts. The lamp is basically a large bundle of LEDs on wires that are threaded through a rigid curved rod and then split into branches wrapped in silver tape. The tape is very poorly applied; This is the part that looks like it was made by Cub Scouts. The wand is inserted into a white plastic socket that makes the electrical connection and holds it upright. The whole thing is powered by either a USB port or 3 AA batteries. First, my stem wasn't fully inserted into the base and it wouldn't engage at all. When the lamp arrives, you need to separate the wires and arrange them so that they look like tree branches. If you know how to do this, the tree will look good throughout the room. He had some nice qualities. The instructions state that the lamp will burn for 6 hours, after which it will turn off automatically. I didn't time it, but it turned off. It also has 8 different modes, basically a constant light level and 7 different ways to blink or change the intensity. The instructions say it will reset to the last value it was set to. However, mine is not. I found this product to be disappointing and I feel sorry for any retailer who was tricked into buying it for resale. I rate this 2 stars.
