When I first got this thermometer it worked great as advertised but over time it became slower and less accurate. still overcooked or undercooked meat regardless of reading. Also, the backlight only stays on for a few seconds when the sensor is off. So if you have multiple items on the grill that you want to get to, you'll have to keep closing and reopening the sensor. Since my trusty old original thermal fork died I have tried 4 different instant read thermometers and so far have had no luck with any of them. So let's move on to the next one, and maybe I'll get lucky.
