No complaints from my little one

We have had this car seat for almost a year. My 2 year old daughter seems safe and comfortable. Initially, she sat backwards, which was great for her, but not for the person in the front seat. We have a Toyota Avalon, I am 5ft 10" and her father is 6ft 3". My husband could not fit in the front passenger seat as she was sitting behind him with her back. I was uncomfortable sitting in front of her, but I managed. The gray side impact shield had somehow detached from the side of the car seat about three months later, right after she drove face first onto the road. I just pray we don't have an accident and I need to find out if it could have prevented some kind of injury. Also, we were never able to put the cup holder back in place. He ended up just rocking back and forth and eventually rolling around on the floor in the back seat. Overall, my daughter seems safe and comfortable. I really wonder if I could have the same if not better security in a cheaper car seat with parts that don't break, I'll never know because we have. In the smart installation we use a locking system as well as a safety belt. To tighten the latch as tight as possible, I press my knee against the seat of the car seat to get as much slack as possible so the seat barely moves when we test it for movement. This car seat is heavy for me, but that's okay since we almost never take it out of my car anyway. Maybe once a month or so we take it off to get any crumbs out and that's when I don't just vacuum it up. One star deduction because the cup holder doesn't hold up and the gray thing broke in a side impact after only 3 months. in use.
