I used to have 4 Velop knots at home but 3 months ago it started to go haywire and one knot just died. I keep hearing complaints from my boys and BIG BOSS about the internet going down. I actually had 5 hotspots in my house. 2 AC Lites, 2 AC LRs and 1 AC Pro which I placed in the busiest spot in my house - the playroom. Installation is easy. You'll need either a PoE switch or a PoE adapter to power this thing. Plug it in and run the Unifi software downloaded from Ubiquiti and set up a hotspot. set ssid and password. Update the firmware and let it work. There are many other settings you can play around with, if you like something like that just leave it at the default and it should work fine. I can move around the house and my phone just transfers from one hotspot to another. I don't miss the Velop mesh at all. I haven't had to reboot these devices in the past few months. To get the most out of these devices, they must be reconnected to the central cabinet either directly or via a switch. 4 of my access points are connected directly to the central cabinet. and one in the garage through the switch and I see no difference in speed.
