Not the best time to upgrade your GPU.

Must take another star Revain prevents me from giving an honest review. Great card, bad choice of manufacturer. A month or two before this purchase I recently upgraded from an FX-8350, 16GB 1600MHz RAM to a Ryzen 52600x and 16GB 3000MHz. A very very good upgrade, so enjoyable it kept my GTX 970 at 100% load while gaming which quickly killed older cards. I quickly settled on this as a last resort because I didn't want to shell out an additional $150 for the 5700xt. 1660 Superfine, plays Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080p on the Ultra preset. However. A lot of people have complained lately that GPUs at this price point "need" a backplate. Somewhat true when the back panel serves a purpose and it doesn't. It's plastic, so not very durable, and plastic doesn't dissipate heat like metal. So one star knocked over a useless backplate that doesn't stop my card from sagging over time. And another star was taken off by MSI for knowingly doing so just to stop complaining and not standing up for themselves. But it seems like every manufacturer is making components as cheaply as possible this year, EVGA, Gigabyte, Asus "Tuf", lol. Everyone is disappointed this year. If you want to upgrade your graphics card, wait until the next RTX generation or the next Radeon card. It's a horrible time to die in the video industry when 12 or 13 cards are released a year (3 versions of 1660 lol) and AMD is throwing out unstable and insanely high temperatures.
