Review on HP 255 15 6 LCD Notebook by Micha Skolimowski ᠌

The worst product for your money, I do not recommend it to anyone.

If you plan to install GNU/Linux on this laptop, be aware that the driver for RTL8821CE 8022022ac will most likely not be available in the official software repositories, in the case of Archlinux, the kernel module is available in the AUR. : I installed an Intel SSDPEKKW128G8XT solid state drive PCIe NVMe 3.1 x4 into it without any problems. I will add my opinion on the results of disassembling the laptop: As it turned out, this process is not particularly time-consuming. It all came down to peeling off the legs on the bottom cover, under which the screws are hidden and snapping off the bottom cover from the topcase with a plastic card (in my case). Finally snap off the topcase in the area of the loops by conveniently turning the laptop with the bottom cover up with the matrix closed. All hardware is immediately available without the need for further disassembly. I have been using this laptop for the second year and I want to warn you against buying this product or a similar model.

Pros
  • Good, productive hardware. Mobility. Slim body. Ability to install m.2 PCIe NVMe 3.1 x4 SSD.
Cons
  • Budget matrix with small viewing angles. The bottom cover is devoid of any hatches and has two long rubber legs, which will have to be carefully torn off, since screws are hidden under them. After a year of use, the battery capacity dropped to 2600mAh. Keyboard: the buttons are quickly erased, the most unpleasant thing is that the support "tubercles" on the A and O keys have also worn off with all the consequences for blind typing.
