Review on 🔧 Premium Valve Cover Gaskets Set for 98-12 SUBARU/SAAB 2.2L / 2.5L SOHC H4 (16 Valve) - Includes Grommets & Spark Plug Tube Seals by Aquarium Lanter

I bought this valve cover kit for a 2009 Subaru Forester (non turbo). 10 eyelets are NOT required for this application. I was concerned that the molded shape of the valve cover gaskets at the top edge would not match the original. I used it anyway and carefully placed the gasket in the molded tab of the valve cover. I am happy to report that after 5000 miles it has not leaked and is working well. This is probably not the ideal gasket kit for this particular EJ25 engine model, but it worked for me. Note that if you are replacing gaskets because the spark plug sockets have failed and oil is leaking into the spark plug recesses, you definitely want to change the spark plugs. This fixed a repeating misfire check engine light in my case. Since the valve cover was removed, you should also check the valve clearance with a feeler gauge. It's a little tricky to get to, but well worth it when you find that the valves need adjusting. Mine doesn't, but I'm glad I checked it out.
