I don't know how other people rate these five stars. At first I liked to wash the dishes without a sponge before putting them in the dishwasher, but after a month it started to smell really bad even though I washed it with soapy water every day. I had to soak this brush in several different cleaning products (dish soap, vinegar, baking soda) for 2-3 days before it got rid of most (but not all) of the odor. I also checked to make sure it was dishwasher safe - handle only. The bristles must be hand washed.
