I used them for another purpose but they still worked fine

Actually I decided to use them to close the light switches so that they don't turn off accidentally. I have smart lightbulbs that don't work when the switch is off. I simply stacked 2-4 of these on top of each other, with the hole(s) above the switch, until it was high enough that the switch couldn't be changed. They also work under the blanking plate so the plate sticks out of the wall far enough for the switch to be cleaned.
