Review on ๐Ÿงต Janome HD3000 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Bundle: Hard Case, Seam & Hem Feet, Needles & More! by Karla Richter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reliable machine, some functions are not intuitive, good basic investment

Of course I just needed a new machine as a backup to my Singer mechanical stitch selection. But this one sews a bit faster and quieter, so it's my regular machine now. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but that suits me. Pros: - The needle will stop as soon as you take your foot off the pedal (as opposed to finishing the stitch and raising to the up position) - this may take a while to get used to when sewing on most modern machines have raise the needle, but it's nice not to have to worry about extra stitches! - Fairly quiet machine - Strong frames - Comes with overlock foot! Cons: - Mechanical stitch selection is clumsy and I can never remember which way to turn the wheel - No way to move needle left (right only) to adjust stitch width - Have to turn stitch selector after completing each one Toggle loop (does not automatically reset) - reverse stitch The button is not in the usual place above the needle, but is a large lever in front of it - takes some getting used to, in general I am satisfied, like all the additional features that come with it. It's a solid car, easy to set up/refill and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a computer controlled car (which I don't/need). Would I buy it again? Probably no. I like the electronic runoff better on other machines, as well as the more familiar arrangement of functions.
