Many power supplies come with splitter-ended PCI-E cables, allowing you to power a graphics card that requires two connectors with a single cable. However, with more modern, performance-hungry graphics cards (see Nvidia 30 series), it is strongly recommended to use two separate PCI-E cables. As a result, split cables hang from the graphics card (.barf). Multiple PCI-E cables with a single connector makes your build so much better. I ended up adding cable extensions to better fit my build. Separate PCI-E cables have also greatly simplified cable management.
