I already have two of these beach scenes from another manufacturer and these are enhanced versions of the images - a wider range of colors using more colors to add depth Pictures. The colors are also lighter. I'm glad I have this set. And they are less expensive. This set is great value and gives you canvases to share if you want. Don't expect a photorealistic final project when it's done. The finished project will look impressionistic, but the image lends itself well to that. The other bonus of this set, besides the great canvases, is the extra tools. You'll be given a bead box, go to your diamond tool to hold multiple gems at once, and a pair of tweezers. All this with excellent canvases makes the set worthwhile. I would set the patience (or skill level) to INTERMEDIATE due to the size of the canvases which are average in relation to the number of colors applied. Grids are easy to read. You can place longer rows of the same color with the included tools (another bonus!) if you have the tools to do it, but of course you'll still be dotting in many places. Everything you absolutely need for this project is included. My general thoughts on diamond painting: Always check your diamond painting first upon receipt to make sure the adhesive on the canvas reaches all edges of the picture. If not, order a replacement. This is a rare problem and thankfully not encountered with this canvas, but it is the first important step in any project. Diamond painting for me is a relaxing activity, it takes the best parts of puzzle solving and cross stitching and combines them into one activity. The end result is that you get a work of art when you want to use it. Sure, it seems like I'm creating more art than I can realistically use, but for the price of one of these kits, it's cheap therapy. I have a briefcase to store the canvases before and after they are made to keep them flat. The details of the image are certainly not as sharp as in the photo, but make for a pointillist painting with brilliance. I love the art styles of Pointillism and Impressionism, so I like them a lot in many ways.
